Success Stories

Over the last nine years I have been observing something most remarkable, something which keeps me very excited and motivated about my work, something which moves me to continually seek and develop my ideas and abilities. That something is my clients and their transformations. I would like to dedicate this article to their many successes and applaud the efforts they have made to improve their health and well being.

But, before I begin, I would like to underline the single most important factor to impact 50 + fitness and well being; CONSTANCY. Constancy (and I’m not talking about constantly drinking and sitting on the coach watching TV) leads to success. Success is bolstered by perseverance (so you don’t give up when the going gets tough, or when you don’t feel like it) and pleasure (so the effort becomes effortless). Constancy yields results. Results keep you motivated. Baby steps are good because they involve smaller more manageable efforts. Baby steps over time produce big changes in both body and mind. Now, here are some of the outstanding accomplishments achieved:

  • Jacques, at 79, survived a reaction to a surgical intervention which would have killed him had he not been in such good shape. We worked together twice a week.
  • Ginette put her passion behind getting into shape and lost 61 pounds in one year completely transforming herself. She even quit smoking. She takes five classes a week.
  • Kay (70+) is one half inch taller. Her Dr. couldn’t believe it and measured her twice! She has been taking one class a week since September.
  • Cristina has overcome annoying back pain and looks fantastic in her new connected, firm, trim body. Cristina takes four classes a week.
  • Jean (60+) is suppler since he started Yoga. He feels so much better too. He takes two Yoga classes a week.
  • Nicole lost 10 pounds in three weeks and feels like a champion – five classes a week.
  • Anne has worked with great diligence both at the Gym, in stretch class and with specialists … this year’s results are even better than last years. Cumulative results can move mountains.
  • Barb is enjoying more flexibility and less pain. Her husband is working steadily as well to get back into tip top shape after heart surgery.
  • Richard has been hard at work since September and as a result has lost weight, improved his heart health and muscular strength. He’s also wearing a big smile.
  • Mary has patiently overcome back trouble and is on her way to dancing up a storm.
  • Eleanor has transformed herself into a light and elegant being.
  • Margrite just keeps on ticking and ticking and she is … I’m not allowed to say but I’m impressed!
  • Agnes likes challenge. She keeps her muscles in really good shape that’s why she looks just over 60!
  • Claude has overcome debilitating neck and upper back pain through one Stretch and Strengthen class a week plus doing my 15 minute DVD every morning.
  • Lise has lost 30 pounds in six months and feels better than ever. Her success is supported by both exercise and visits to the naturopath.

I don’t want to forget those who have reduced or eliminated their medications (Dr. recommended), those who have found solace and strength after challenging experiences such as injuries, surgeries and illness or illness of spouse or parents. I can think of many more examples but am running out of space. So, bravo to all my clients for their efforts, their constancy and their progress! Five gold stars.

I encourage each and every one of you to take an active role in your health and well being so you too can benefit from some of the amazing results which await you. If you need guidance or motivation my summer session begins June 30th in Morin Heights. I will be there with my big black boots (for your butt) and my velvet gloves (for your sensitive you). Stay active, be constant and watch the gold stars pile up around you. Twinkle. Twinkle. Twinkle.
