This Spring we are at a greater risk for severe allergic reactions due to the many Spring rains and unseasonal cold. Because of the cold temperatures the pollen has not been gradually released into the air as in previous years which means that as soon as it warms up all the pollen will be released simultaneously. Watch Out!
Here are a few helpful tips:
– Keep all windows and doors closed between 5 and 10 o’clock in the morning to prevent the pollen from entering your home.
– Reduce foods that stimulate the production of mucous in the body such as sugars, dairy products, etc..
– we can replace milk with almond or rice milks.
– Drink lemon herbal teas and lemon juice in water.
– Increase consumption of green foods such as cucumber, broccoli, kale, spinach ,rappini, green pepper, parsley, cilantro, basil, etc..
– If needed allergy medication (Benadryl) or homeopathic products at the start of your symptoms.
